Brush fire reported in the area of Las Colonias Boat Ramp near the Park on Riverside Parkway. Originally dispatched to check for smoke in the area, fire crews report an active fire and requested additional brush trucks. Responders are working to extinguish, reporting moderate amounts of brush but slow moving winds.
Update: Crews have located a homeless encampment with multiple tents and garbage on fire, that appears to be the source of the incident. Battalion 6 and Drone 1 are also dispatched.
Fire chief has requested police respond to the area to check on a suspect seen walking away from the area the fire started.
